During this summer I have had the great opportunity to do a two week work placement at Aardman Animations in Bristol. I worked mainly for the Timmy Time show, making new concepts for the Timmy website, being in puppet maintaince, helping with stills cleaning and a bit of props. I have learned so many things it's amazing.
Again if you would like to know more of what I am doing now, and see also the latest animations and sketches, I urge to go to my much more active blog http://likeabluebird.blogspot.com Thank you!

NFTS - Barry Purves Workshop
A few weeks ago we had a one-week workshop with the wonderful Barry Purves. It was very very educational. We had to go back to the very beginning and work underneath old-school cameras.
By the end of the week we had to make our own string puppet and animate it. The assignment was to have the character sit in one corner and let something drop in on the other. The character had to go to the object but how depended on a slip of paper you got. Mine said: "someone on ice". The doll was inspired by Enkana's drawings and was made of patterned fabric and paper (which you can't see due to the crap quality of the camera).
It was fun. Should update with sound soon :]
NFTS - CelAction test
His name is Adam - Agricultural Dedicated Awareness Machine. It was a quick test of the program CelAction that we learned in 5 days just before Easter. It was rather fun :]
The voice is the mac voice (early days) and is owned by Apple. It was the only robot-like sound sample I could quickly get my hands on.

WELCOME
Unfortunally is my own website currently under construction. Therefore I made this blog, to be able to showcase a selection of my artwork untill the website online.
Please scroll down to see all the artwork, or use the labels on the left to specify what you would like to see.
ABOUT ME
My name is Bianca Ansems. I am a fresh animation graduate from the artschool AKV | St.joost in Breda, The Netherlands. Before that I have done a one-year art foundation at the Koning Willem I College in Den Bosch.
I am mostly skilled in 2D CGI, both animation and illustration, and work mainly in Photoshop, After Effects and TVPaint. I also have a basic knowledge of 3D (e.g. Alias Maya) and some compositing programs. This allows me to be able to mix techniques in order to create the image that I have in mind. I never have a set style or approach, as I prefer to adjust these to the story I want to tell and am always curious to improve or learn new skills.

ANIMATION - Mr.Tophat
Full title: The Somewhat Queer yet Silly Mr.Tophat
Freshly baked, this animation is about the curious Mr.Tophat, who decides he wants to be the most respected man of all by wearing the tallest hat ever! No matter the consequences.
Unfortunally I have decided to not post up the full animation yet, instead I have the first 30 seconds, and shall soon reveal a bit more in my showreel.
If you would like to see the full animation, please contact me.
However the COMPLETE process is on MY GRADUATION BLOG > HERE <
Here is a little video of a video wall I made for the exposition at school which could not have been done without Paul Verhoeven, my classmate:

wordplay on the German word "drachen" which means both "kite" as well as "dragon"
ANIMATION - Ephi the Emo Doll
First time working with Alias Maya.
We had to make an animation in Alias Maya where an object flies in from the left, interacts with the character and flies out to the right. I made (Emo) Ephi, a wind-up doll who enjoys a brief spur of life.
